The Wiener Konzerthaus was built in 1913. Until the end of World War I it mainly was dedicated to classical music performances. After the wars, the program has widened to include dance, literature and even Jazz and World Music. The Konzerthaus aimed to regain its prior status and dedicated itself to the promotion of contemporary classical music in Austria. |

Festivals like Wien Modern and Resonanzen (Renaissance music and medieval music) have gained international reputation and offered many opportunities for young and lesser known artists. Other highlights are devoted to choral and piano music.
The unique atmosphere of this establishment -that was renovated only a few years ago - is highly appreciated by audiences and artists from all over the world, no matter whether they prefer traditional, contemporary or experimental music. |
