Vienna City Park
The Vienna City Park is situated beween the Inner City (first district) and the third district. It was opened for the public in 1862.
Pedestrians approaching the park will find many different environments. People coming from the subway pavilions will see Viennese Art Nouveau, those coming from the "Ring" will go on shady paths and come to the famous Johann Strauss monument.

Dedicated to the "Waltz King," Johann Strauß Junior, this famous statue captures the movement of his violin playing. At night, the illumination shows up the nymph-infested stone arch in the background. |

Famous as venue of concerts by Johann Strauß jr, the Kursalon Stadtpark -built 1867 by Johann Garben- is nowadays used for daily waltz and operetta concerts from April to November.
