Museumsquartier
In the centre of Vienna near the shopping aerea 'Mariahilferstrasse' the Museumsquartier - covering about 45,000 sq. m - has become one of the major centres of Austrian art.
The project for this centre was the joint work of the Ortner & Ortner practice and Manfred Wehdorn and involved converting the old the imperial stables built in 1723 into a museum. |

It houses the Kunsthalle (Art Hall Vienna), the Leopold Museum, which is the largest collection of 19th and early 20th century Austrian art, the MUMOK (Museum of Modern Art Foundation Ludwig Vienna) and the ZOOM-Museum for children. |
